Kerry Wilson is an independent insurance and auto club agent in Gadsden, Alabama. He had over 30 years experience in the insurance business. Kerry began his insurance career on July 2, 1982 with Life Investors Insurance Company. Kerry worked for Atlantic American Life Insurance Company, Farm Bureau Insurance Company, Alfa Insurance Company, and Sentry Insurance Company. He founded Kerry Wilson Insurance on September 11, 1991 and now represents 24 auto insurance companies, and over 35 companies total. Kerry earned the insurance industry designation Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), and completed four Chartered Life Underwriter courses from the American College. Kerry graduated from the Leadership In Life Institute (LILI) in June 2006.
Kerry has moderated two Life Underwriter Training Council Courses (LUTC). Kerry was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award from the NAIFA Gadsden in 2002. Kerry was the President of NAIFA Gadsden 2005-2006 and 2009-2010, and served as an Area Vice President on the State Board of Directors of NAIFA Alabama. Kerry served as the Executive Secretary of NAIFA Gadsden since 2006. Kerry is a two time Past President and 3 time Secretary and 3 time Zone Chairman of the Hokes Bluff Lions Club. Kerry had Perfect Attendance for 10 years at the Lions Club. Kerry was elected in March 2010 as the 2nd Vice District Governor of Alabama Lions Club District 34A for 2010, and 2011. He was the 1st Vice District Governor in 2011 and 2012, and he was the District Governor for 2012 and 2013. Kerry served as the web master of: NAIFA Gadsden, NAIFA Alabama, NAIFA Huntsville, NAIFA Morgan-Lawrence and Hokes Bluff Lions Club. Kerry served on the Council of Governor's of the Lions of Alabama, and also served on the Board of Directors of Alabama Sight 2011-2012.
Kerry was an avid Honda Goldwing Motorcycle Rider, with over 60,000 safe miles logged. He has ridden in over 17 states. He was also a member of the Iron Butt Association, having ridden over 1,010 miles in less than 24 hours from Gadsden, AL to Albert Lea MN on August 13, 2004. Kerry was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) and a member of the GWRRA Hall of Fame having recruited over 100 GWRRA members. Kerry's wife Joyce, daughter Kacey, and Son in law Josh Dodd are also members of the GWRRA Hall of Fame. Josh was the GWRRA Recruiter of the Year 2004. Kerry was the GWRRA Recruiter of the Year 2005. Josh was the Recruiter of the Year in GWRRA Alabama in 2005. Kerry was the GWRRA Recruiter of the Year GWRRA Alabama in 2006. Collectively, they are responsible for recruiting over 700 members into GWRRA. Kerry played clarinet and was involved in several community, and church orchestras past and present. He participated in the Snead State Wind Band. Kerry contributed articles to the Thunder Roads Magazine and The Christian Family Magazine. Kerry was a Hall of Fame member for recruiting in GWRRA, and the Recruiter of the Year in Alabama in 2003 and 2005. He was the Recruiter of the Year for GWRRA International in 2006. He and Joyce have been happily married for over 35 years. They have two daughters and 4 grandchildren. Kerry's wife Joyce, and one daughter Kelly and one son-in-law Josh also serve in the agency.
